Cockatiel Care Guide:

Feed your cockatiel 3-4 teaspoons of pellet or seed based fortified cockatiel diet once a day. Cockatiels are messy eaters. About 5-10% of a cockatiel’s diet should be bite sized fruits and veggies. Your cockatiel will need a cuttle bone or mineral block at all times. Be sure to always have clean, fresh water available to your bird.

Cockatiels love to be held and petted. They require lots of attention. If you work with your cockatiel you can teach it to whistle a tune although they are not great talkers. The cage should be large enough for your bird to comfortably stretch its wings. Keep toys available for your cockatiel. Provide a bath 2-3 times per week. To make sure that your bird is healthy look for clear, bright eyes; clean, smooth feathers; normal droppings, and a curious and active personality.
