A seed based diet with specialized pellets is recommended for your parrot. Fresh fruits and vegetables should be given daily. Parrots enjoy variety in their diets. Parrots should always have access to fresh and clean water.

Parrots need a fairly large cage with plenty of room to stretch out. A variety of perches are recommended as well as toys. Parrots chew a lot and need lots of chew toys. Wood and natural branches are good for them to chew. Be sure and replace when worn or damaged. Parrots are very social and enjoy human interaction. They need lots of time outside of the cage for exercise and well being. To make sure that your bird is healthy look for clear, bright eyes; clean, smooth feathers; normal droppings, and a curious and active personality.

All pets may bite or scratch, by doing so they may transmit disease to humans. Keep your pets home clean and wash your hands before and after handling your pet or cleaning his home. Anyone at a great risk of infection should use caution when in contact with pet or its habitat.
